About Me

Sometimes, we find ourselves feeling weighed down by the past, anxious about the future, and completely disconnected from the present. This was my reality for much of my younger adult life—pushing through each day with a forced smile, hoping no one would see the turmoil inside. I was consumed by anxiety, unhappy with the direction of my life, and stuck in a cycle of unhealthy relationship patterns.

Being present felt impossible, and the thought of changing my life felt overwhelming. For a while, masking helped me get by, but eventually, it only deepened my struggles. It wasn’t until I reached a breaking point that I realized change wasn’t just an option—it was necessary.

Tired of making choices that didn’t serve my future self, I decided to seek the guidance of a professional. Committing to the work allowed me to peel back the layers of negative experiences that had been weighing me down. I began to understand the roots of my fearful-avoidant attachment and why I struggled to form and maintain lasting relationships.

As I connected the dots between past and present, I gained insight into the patterns of behavior that had shaped me from childhood into adulthood. Through my healing process, I slowly unraveled the tangled roots of my past, creating space for real change. I learned to trust my intuition, love and accept myself for who I truly am—not who others expected me to be.

I also discovered the power of nurturing relationships that aligned with my values, uplifted my growth, and brought genuine positivity into my life. Equally important, I embraced the difficult task of letting go of superficial connections that no longer supported my journey.

With the help of a great therapist, I was finally able to step into my unapologetically authentic self. The transformation was so empowering that I knew I wanted to help others do the same.

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, earned from East Texas A&M University. I bring a wealth of training and expertise to my practice including complex trauma training, EMDR Therapy training (EMDRIA), DBT training, certification in Gender-Affirming Mental Health Assessments, and recognition as a Nationally Certified Counselor by the National Board of Certified Counselors.

I strive to provide a non-judgmental, culturally sensitive space where you can explore the deeper layers of what makes you uniquely you. My hope is to support you in your healing journey—helping you untangle the complexities of life, find balance within your mind and body, and cultivate a sense of inner peace.

Together, we can work toward bringing more joy, fulfillment, and alignment into your life. I invite you to embark on this transformative journey toward becoming the best version of yourself.

Specialization and Focus

I have a deep passion for working with individuals navigating generational trauma, childhood trauma, and attachment-related challenges. My approach is rooted in understanding how early experiences shape emotional patterns, relationships, and self-perception, helping individuals heal and create meaningful, lasting change.

As an affirmatively trained therapist, I am passionate about supporting individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community as they navigate challenges related to gender identity, sexual orientation, and self-discovery. I also have a deep appreciation for working with neurodivergent individuals, including those with ADHD, high sensitivity, social anxiety, and sensory processing differences, providing a supportive space tailored to their unique needs.

Additionally, as a mother of two adult children, I understand firsthand the joys and complexities of pregnancy, parenthood, and the transition to an empty nest. I offer compassionate guidance through these and other major life transitions, helping individuals find clarity, resilience, and balance along the way.

Therapeutic Approach

My holistic approach involves trauma-informed care, utilizing a combination of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, Somatic Therapy techniques, and traditional talk therapy. Together, we will create a tailored plan of action to help you unlock your full potential. I firmly believe in a collaborative therapeutic approach, ensuring we customize the methods to suit your unique needs.

When I’m out in the wild

I find so much joy in spending time outdoors with my partner and our three dogs, especially as we continue exploring the beauty of the Pacific Northwest! Being new to the area, I love discovering new trails, hidden gems, and local favorites—so if you have any recommendations, I’m all ears!

Coffee has also become a bit of a passion of mine, and I’m always on the hunt for the perfect roast. If you have a favorite coffee roaster, I’d love to hear about that too! No matter how busy life gets, I believe there’s always time to slow down and enjoy a good cup of coffee with a friend—even if it has to be virtual.
